The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and spreading shade 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 on raised couches. 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 So made them as maidens. 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
