The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
