a large group of the earlier people 39 and also a large throng from those of later times. 40 But those of the left hand -- how unhappy those of the left hand -- 41 In fierce hot wind and boiling water, 42 in the shadow of a smoking blaze, 43 neither cool nor refreshing. 44 Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence, 45 And used to persist in the awful sin. 46 And they used to say, "When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we surely be raised again?" 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times, 49 shall be gathered to the appointed time of a known day. 50 Then indeed you, the astray, the deniers - 51 Will be eating from trees of zaqqum 52 Then will fill your bellies with it. 53 and on top of this you will drink boiling water 54 and you will drink as the lapping of thirsty camels. 55 This is their reception on the Day of Justice. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 So what is your opinion regarding the semen you discharge? 58 Do you make a human out of it, or is it We Who create? 59 We! it is We Who have decreed death unto you all. And We are not to be outrun. 60 from changing the nature of your existence and bringing you into being [anew] in a manner [as yet] unknown to you. 61 And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind? 62 Have you thought about what crops you plant? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment, 65 (Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing): 66 Nay, but we are deprived! 67 Have you ever considered the water which you drink? 68 Is it you who cause it from the rainclouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down? 69 [It comes down sweet - but] were it Our will, We could make it burningly salty and bitter: why, then, do you not give thanks [unto Us]? 70 Have you considered the fire which you strike? 71 Did you produce the tree that serves as fuel or do We? 72 We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. 73 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 74
