Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 As a warning unto men, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 Of evil-doers: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
