The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and so am I: 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
