NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 a warning to mortal man 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
