Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the loosed ones successively 1 storming tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a known calculated term. 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 The living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
