The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and extended shade, 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 And couches raised up. 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 And made them virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
