The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 having given the lie to Our messages one and all: 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
