In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
