Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
