The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 that hide, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
