Remember that morning Thou didst leave Thy household (early) to post the faithful at their stations for battle: And Allah heareth and knoweth all things: 121 Two parties of you were about to fail, though Allah was their Guardian, and in Allah believers put all their trust. 122 And Allah did certainly assist you at Badr when you were weak; be careful of (your duty to) Allah then, that you may give thanks. 123 Also, remember when you said to the believers, "Is it not enough that your Lord is helping you with a force of three thousand angels sent (from the heavens)?" 124 If you remain patient and God-fearing, and the enemy should fall upon you all of a sudden, Your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand angels clearly marked!" 125 And Allah did not bestow this victory except for your happiness, and only that your hearts may attain peace with it; and there is no help except from Allah, the Almighty, the Wise. 126 That He might cut down a section of the disbelievers or suppress them so that they turn back disappointed. 127 Not with thee is aught of the affair: He shall either relent toward them or torment them, for verily they are wrong-doers. 128 To God belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth: He may pardon whom He please and punish whom He will. Yet God is forgiving and kind. 129
