The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 who collects and hordes wealth, 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them 8 in columns outstretched. 9

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
