The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe unto every slanderer, traducer, 1 Who amasseth wealth; and counteth it. 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 And what shall make thee know that which the Crushing Fire is? 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 verily, it will close in upon them 8 In outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
