The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
