Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Ha. Mim. 1 A Revelation from (Allah), Most Gracious, Most Merciful;- 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us, so do as you will and so shall we." 5 Say: 'I am only a mortal, like you are. To me it has been revealed that your God is One God; so go straight with Him, and ask for His forgiveness; and woe to the idolaters 6 who pay not the alms, and disbelieve in the world to come. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have a reward never to be cut off. 8
