The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
