The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the Great News 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 Recompense fitted! 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
