▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 From the guilty. 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until death approached us". 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
True are the words of God the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
