The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
