Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
