Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his nation, saying: 'Give warning to your nation before a painful punishment overtakes them' 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 He will forgive your sins and give you a respite for an appointed time. When the time which God has appointed arrives, none will be able to postpone it. Would that you knew this!" 4 He said: O my Lord! surely I have called my people by night and by day! 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 Then I said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving: 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 and will succour you with wealth and sons, and will appoint for you gardens, and will appoint for you rivers. 12 What is the matter with you that you do not want the Greatness of Allah, 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 ‘And it is Allah Who made you grow like vegetation from the earth.’ 17 Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: 18 And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse 19 That you may go along therein in wide paths. 20
