Whoso blinds himself to the Remembrance of the All-merciful, to him We assign a Satan for comrade; 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 Until when he comes before Us he will say (to the devil): "Would to God there was a distance of the East and West between you and me, for you were an evil companion!" 38 And since you were unjust, it will not profit you this day that you are sharers in the chastisement. 39 So will you make the deaf listen or show the path to the blind, and to those who are in open error? (The disbelievers whose hearts are sealed, are deaf and blind to the truth). 40 Even if We take you away, We shall take vengeance upon them, 41 Or show you some of what We have promised them. They are certainly well within Our power. 42 Therefore hold fast to that which has been revealed to you; surely you are on the right path. 43 The Quran is a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be questioned about it. 44 And ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before thee: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped beside the Beneficent? 45
