The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30

Notes and Instructions
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
