The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
