Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
