By the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning to mankind, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Except those of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
