Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 And the satans have not brought it down. 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
