Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
All praise is for Allah alone, Who created the heavens and the earth, and brought into being light and darkness, and yet those who have rejected the call of the Truth ascribe others to be equals to their Lord. 1 It is He who has created you out of clay, and then has decreed a term [for you], a term known [only] to Him. Yet you are still in doubt, 2 And He it is Who is One True God in the heavens and in the earth. He knows your deeds - both secret and open - and knows fully whatever you earn. 3 Yet every time a sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord, they turn away from it. 4 They have refused the Truth (Muhammad's message) that has come to them but they will soon learn the consequences of their mocking. 5 See they not how many a generation We destroyed before them, whom We had established in the earth more firmly than We have established you, and We shed on them abundant showers from the sky, and made the rivers flow beneath them. Yet we destroyed them for their sins, and created after them another generation. 6 And even if We had sent down to you, [O Muhammad], a written scripture on a page and they touched it with their hands, the disbelievers would say, "This is not but obvious magic." 7 And they say, "Why was there not sent down to him an angel?" But if We had sent down an angel, the matter would have been decided; then they would not be reprieved. 8 Even if We had sent down an angel as messenger he would have appeared in the garb of a man and filled them with confusion, like the one they are filled with. 9 And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by that which they used to ridicule. 10
