Never have We sent a Prophet to a place without trying its people with adversity and hardship that they may humble themselves. 94 Then We changed their suffering into prosperity, until they grew and multiplied, and began to say: "Our fathers (too) were touched by suffering and affluence"... Behold! We called them to account of a sudden, while they realised not (their peril). 95 Had the people of those towns believed in and feared God, We would have showered upon them blessings from heaven and earth, but they rejected the truth. So We seized them on account of their misdeeds. 96 What! do the people of the towns then feel secure from Our punishment coming to them by night while they sleep? 97 Or, do the people of those towns feel secure that Our punishment will not come to them by daylight while they are at play? 98 What! do they then feel secure from Allah's plan? But none feels secure from Allah's plan except the people who shall perish. 99
