To those who inherit the earth in succession to its (previous) possessors, is it not a guiding, (lesson) that, if We so willed, We could punish them (too) for their sins, and seal up their hearts so that they could not hear? 100 We have told you the stories of those towns: their messengers came to them with clear signs, but they were never going to believe in something they had already rejected. Thus God seals up the hearts of those who deny the truth. 101 Most of them We found not men (true) to their covenant: but most of them We found rebellious and disobedient. 102 After them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs. But they willfully rejected them. Consider the end of the evil-doers. 103 And Moses said: 'O Pharaoh! I am a Messenger from the Lord of the universe. 104 Approved upon condition that I speak concerning Allah nothing but the truth. I come unto you (lords of Egypt) with a clear proof from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me. 105 He said: "If you have brought a sign then display it, if what you say is true." 106 Thereupon he cast down his rod, when, lo it was a serpent manifest. 107 Then he uncovered his hand and it appeared sheer white to the onlookers. 108
