And assuredly We have created man and We know whatsoever his soul whispereth unto him, and We are nigher unto him than his jugular vein. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 He uttereth no word but there is with him an observer ready. 18 And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid. 19 The trumpet will certainly be sounded. This will be the day (about which you) were threatened. 20 And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 'Thou wast heedless of this; therefore We have now removed from thee thy covering, and so thy sight today is piercing.' 22 And his companion (angel) will say: "Here is (this Record) ready with me!" 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 every hinderer of the good, transgressor, disquieter, 25 Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment." 26 ۞ His companion will say: "O Lord, I did not lead him to wickedness, but he was himself far astray." 27 Allah will say: wrangle not in My presence, and I had already proferred unto you the threat. 28 “With Me, the decree does not change, and nor do I oppress the bondmen.” 29
