Said the eminent among the people of Pharaoh, "Indeed, this is a learned magician 109 who seeks to drive you from your land what do you command' 110 They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers 111 to bring thee every cunning sorcerer.' 112 And the magicians came to Pharaoh and said: 'Shall we have a reward if we win?' 113 Answered [Pharaoh]: "Yes; and verily, you shall be among those who are near unto me." 114 They said: O Musa! will you cast, or shall we be the first to cast? 115 He said, "You throw [first]!" When they made their cast, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck them with awe, for they showed a great [feat of] magic. 116 We put it into Moses's mind by inspiration: "Throw (now) thy rod": and behold! it swallows up straight away all the falsehoods which they fake! 117 ۞ Thus the Truth prevailed and their false art was banished. 118 And Pharaoh and his people were overcome right there and became debased. 119 And the enchanters were thrown down, prostrating (themselves). 120 They said: "We believe in the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 121 the Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission. Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city to drive out its people, but you shall come to know. 123 I will certainly cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then will I crucify you all together. 124 They answered: "Verily, unto our Sustainer do we turn 125 You would punish us only because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they were shown to us. Our Lord, pour patience upon us, and cause us to die in a state of submission to You." 126
