The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
