The assembly of Pharaoh's nation said: 'This man is a wellversed sorcerer 109 “He wishes to expel you all from your kingdom; so what do you advise?” 110 They said: put him and his brother off, and send unto the cities callers. 111 to summon every wellversed sorcerer to you' 112 And the sorcerers came unto Pharaoh [and] said: "Verily, we ought to have a great reward if it is we who prevail." 113 The Pharaoh replied, "In addition to your rewards, you will become my close friends thereafter." 114 They said: 'Moses, will you throw first or shall we be the throwers' 115 He said: Throw! And when they threw they cast a spell upon the people's eyes, and overawed them, and produced a mighty spell. 116 And we revealed unto Musa: cast down thy rod. And lo! it was swallowing up that which they had feigned. 117 ۞ Thus the truth was upheld, and the falsehood that they practised was exposed. 118 And Pharaoh and his people were overcome right there and became debased. 119 and the sorcerers prostrated themselves, 120 Crying: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, 121 the Lord of Moses and Aaron.' 122 Fir'awn said: believed ye in him ere I have given you leave? Verily this is a plot ye have plotted in the city that ye may drive forth the people thereof. So presently ye shall know. 123 "Surely, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all." 124 They said, “We shall return to our Lord.” 125 You only take revenge on us because we believed in the Lord when we saw His miracles. Lord, grant us patience and let us die Muslims (submitted to God)." 126
