Joseph (Yousuf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
A. L. R. These are the symbols (or Verses) of the perspicuous Book. 1 Lo! We have revealed it, a Lecture in Arabic, that ye may understand. 2 In revealing this Quran to you, We tell you the best of the stories of which you were unaware. 3 When Joseph told his father, "My father, I saw eleven stars, and the sun and moon: I saw them prostrate themselves before me," 4 he replied, "My son, do not relate your dream to your brothers, lest they plot evil against you -- Satan is the sworn enemy of man. 5 And thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of narratives and complete His favor upon you and upon the family of Jacob, as He completed it upon your fathers before, Abraham and Isaac. Indeed, your Lord is Knowing and Wise." 6
