The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil). 2 Who believe in the Unknown and fulfil their devotional obligations, and spend in charity of what We have given them; 3 those who believe in the revelation sent down to you and in what was sent before you, and firmly believe in the life to come -- 4 They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper. 5 As for those whose fate is disbelief, whether you warn them or do not warn them – it is all one for them; they will not believe. (Because their hearts are sealed – see next verse). 6 Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah's Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment. 7
