And remember when Ibrahim prayed, “O my Lord! Make this town (Mecca) a safe one, and safeguard me and my sons from worshipping idols.” 35 My Lord! They have caused many people to go astray. Now, if anyone follows my way, he is from me; and if anyone follows a way opposed to mine, then surely You are Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful." 36 I have settled some of my children, O Lord, in a barren valley near Your sacred House, so that, O our Lord, they may be constant in devotion. So put in the hearts of men some kindness for them, and provide fruits for them: They may haply be grateful. 37 Lord, You know all that we conceal or reveal. Nothing in the heavens or the earth is hidden from God. 38 "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has given me in old age Isma'il (Ishmael) and Ishaque (Isaac). Verily! My Lord is indeed the All-Hearer of invocations. 39 My Lord! make me establisher of prayer and also from my progeny, our Lord! and accept Thou my supplication. 40 Our Lord! forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day whereon will be set up the reckoning. 41
