We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 "How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?" 32 He said it was not for me that I should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded. 33 Allah said: then get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art one damned. 34 And verily on thee shall be the curse till the Day of Requital. 35 Iblis prayed, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Judgment". 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 "Till the predetermined time." 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 Said He: "This is, with Me, a straight way: 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 Seven gates it has, and unto each gate a set portion of them belongs.' 44
