And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 And We made known to him this decree that the wrongdoers were to be utterly cut off in the morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not! 68 Fear Allah and do not disgrace me' 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 [Lot] said: "[Take instead] these daughters of mine, if you must do [whatever you intend to do]!" 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
