At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said, “These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to.” 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood [i.e. the people of Madyan (Midian) to whom Prophet Shu'aib was sent by Allah), were also Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.). 78 and so We inflicted Our retribution on them. And behold, both these [sinful communities] lived by a highway, [to this day] plain to see 79
