The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
