And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 We turned the town upside-down and showered on them lumps of baked clay. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 and so We inflicted Our retribution on them. And behold, both these [sinful communities] lived by a highway, [to this day] plain to see 79
