Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 So set out thou with thy house hold in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs, and let not one of you look back, and pass whither ye are commanded. 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They answered: "Have we not forbidden thee [to offer protection] to any kind of people?" 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Surely in that are signs for such as mark; 75 And verily they are on a pathway lasting. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
