And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut. 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival). 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They said: forbade we not thee against the worlds? 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 [But the angels spoke thus:] "As thou livest, [O Lot, they will not listen to thee:] behold, in their delirium [of lust] they are but blindly stumbling to and fro!" 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside-down and showered on them lumps of baked clay. 74 Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
