AND WHEN the messengers [of God] came to the house of Lot, 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected. 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 Exclaimed [Lot]: "Behold, these are my guests: so put me not to shame, 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They replied: "Did we not forbid you again and again to extend hospitality to all and sundry?" 70 [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." 71 By thy life, in their intoxication they were wandering bewildered. 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 And We turned the city upside down, and rained on them stones of hardened lava. 74 Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
