Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 We gave them Our signs, but they turned away from them. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 For that which they have been working. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 Therefore proclaim the Purity of your Lord with praise, and be of those who prostrate. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
