People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away. 81 And they used to carve dwellings in the hills, without fear. 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 (Muhammad), We have given you the seven most repeated (verses) and the great Quran. 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 And say thou: verily I! I am a plain warner. 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 about what they did. 93 Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
