It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]. 10 He causes to grow for you thereby herbage, and the olives, and the palm trees, and the grapes, and of all the fruits; most surely there is a sign in this for a people who reflect. 11 And He subjected the night and the day for you – and the sun and the moon; and the stars are subjected to His command; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 12 And other things of different shades has He produced on the earth for you. In this are signs for those who reflect. 13 It is He who has subjected the sea to you, so that you eat of its soft flesh and bring up from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing their course through it in order that you seek His bounty and give thanks. 14 And He has cast great mountains in the earth lest it might be convulsed with you, and rivers and roads that you may go aright, 15 And marks and sign-posts; and by the stars (men) guide themselves. 16 Is then He Who creates like one that creates not? Will ye not receive admonition? 17 For, should you try to count God's blessings, you could never compute them! Behold, God is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace; 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you declare. 19 Whatever (idols) they worship besides God can create nothing for they are themselves created. 20 Dead are they, not alive; and they perceive not when they will be raised up. 21
